Hedmark University of Applied Sciences (HUAS) was founded in 1994 as the result of a merger of four higher education institutions with long traditions: teacher education founded in 1867, forestry education in 1912, agricultural education in 1923, nursing education in 1927 and business and administration education in 1979.

HUAS is a Norwegian state education and research institution funded from the Ministry of Education and Research following decision on budget allocations in the Norwegian National Assembly. In addition HUAS also has other financial sources, mostly from other public founded bodies. 

HUAS is a multi-campus institution located in the county of Hedmark in Norway, 120 kilometres north of Oslo. With 7 700 students HUAS is the twelfth largest public institution of higher education and research in Norway. 

HUAS offers 24 bachelor programs, 1 integrated five year bachelor- and master program, 10 master programs (all 120 ECTS) and to doctoral programs. All these programs are funded by the National budget. 10 % of the students are on master level. Study program - 2015 316.47 kB
