Hedmark University of Applied Sciences (HUAS) was founded in 1994 as the result of a merger of four higher education institutions with long traditions: teacher education founded in 1867, forestry education in 1912, agricultural education in 1923, nursing education in 1927 and business and administration education in 1979.

As of 1 January, 2017 Lillehammer University College and Hedmark University of Applied Sciences merged and became Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences. See inn.no for more information.
